Filled with beautiful cinematography, interesting characters, and a few chuckles along the way, Lake Evermore will entertain a broad audience. Because it has no nudity, foul language, or blood soaked scenes, it’s suitable for the whole family (except maybe the little ones at the end).
Mike and Evelyn Turner receive a letter from Evelyn’s Aunt Sadie. The letter tells them that they have inherited her cottage on Lake Evermore. When they arrive there, they find it very quaint and friendly. Colorful characters like Ben Bradley (the general store owner) and Karl (his assistant) make them feel right at home. They find themselves helping a stranded motorist named Doc Morgan, who invites them to an Ice Cream Social where they meet even more interesting people. Mike Turner finds Lake Evermore strangely stuck in time, but which time is unclear. Mike, a hard nosed real estate developer, finds himself bearing his soul to a new found friend Elmer, the old man in the boat and keeper of the lake. Evelyn reacquaints herself with an old friend, lovingly nick named Mrs. Flowers. All seems to be going quite well for the couple until Mike gets the big idea of developing condos on the lake. Things begin to change for them, as Mike learns an important lesson. In the end, we realize how much Mike and Evelyn have in common with the people of Lake Evermore. The end may surprise you.
